I do love talking, I appreciate a space to be heard, and see every opportunity to do so as one to dredge into the minds of others indelible truths. I have been a witness to the power of the spoken word, I have been at the scene of the written word and even experienced the silence that reaches out to us when words remain unspoken.
It is not coincidental that my doctoral thesis was titled "Speaking Truth to Power". But I know with these cravings to speak comes a huge responsibility, one of fidelity to the truth and that of openness, am I there yet? I am not sure, but for me its is a journey, which involves stumbling around in the dark only because of the certainty of the light beyond.
My first book, I hope many more will come, is out and it has been nicely summarised by my learned friend, colleague and partner of a small Nigerian based legal practice. She says and I quote:
"A very well thought out, well written book that I've had the privilege of reading. It draws a parallel between the troubled life of young child who overcomes all challenges in the hand life dealt him to emerge a successful and grounded adult contributing meaning to his society and a nation which he challenges in the book to also arise and overcome its challenges."
I hope you will find the book inspirational.
